The reason is that while this divine aquatic plant grows in the murkiest of muddy marshes, it blossoms everyday with the pre-morning sun, unfurling its iconic petals on which the Buddha sits.
Energetically and emotionally, White Lotus Absolute is known for its ability to calm and soothe. During meditation, it is used to anoint the crown of the Head and the Third Eye Chakra, promoting heightened spiritual growth. Overview
White Lotus Absolute
Our exquisite White Lotus Absolute has a warm green floral aroma with earthy, sweet, fruity-floral undertones, traces of indole and an overall deep richness. It is a beautiful addition to fine natural perfumes and anointing oils. While similar to our Pink Lotus Absolute, this absolute is bolder and not quite as sweet. Even when highly diluted, the fragrance of White Lotus Absolute holds its fragrance.
The ancient Egyptians regarded Lotus as a sacred flower symbolizing the sun and creation, thereby possessing regenerative powers; it was often depicted in the hieroglyphics and art of Upper Egypt.1,2 This particular species of lotus, Nelumbo nucifera, was introduced to Egypt from Persia3 and is now cultivated in India and throughout the world in tropical pools.4 Living with humans for about 7,000 years, Nelumbo has developed many notable biological features and strategies: extraordinary seed longevity (1,300 years!), rhizome viability (50 years!), unmatchable water repellency (known as the ‘Lotus effect’ and adapted for industrial use), vigorous adaptation to aquatic environments5, and it is thermogenic – selectively heat-producing. Thermogenic plants have evolved temperature regulation as a reward to the heat-dependent beetles that pollinate them – there is no other known physiological purpose for the Lotus!6
This divine aquatic plant can flourish in stunningly clear pools or the murkiest of muddy marshes and then, with dignified grace and equanimity, unfurl its iconic petals on which the Buddha sits. Used in Ayurvedic practice, Hindus consider the Lotus as sacred, that “its exquisite perfume beckons the mind into stillness, clarity, and devotion.”7 More than a symbol of enlightenment, “the beauty of the Lotus is also considered a medicine.”8 In kundalini yoga, the crown/highest chakra “opens as ‘the thousand-petaled lotus of understanding,’ revealing the brightness of the Self like a universal flame no wind has ever disturbed.”9 White Lotus Absolute carries a long lineage of the sacred in its life force that can add unparalleled depth and magic to perfume creations and anointing oils – and to those fortunate enough to wear them.
PLEASE NOTE: White Lotus Absolute is not recommended for aromatherapy; it is intended for use in perfumery only.
